Charlie has been in the business for over 20 years and plays a vital role in advising the board on the direction of the business moving forward and making key business decisions.

Andrew Brock

Commercial Director

Andy joined the Board of Caleb Roberts following a 20 year career across corporate businesses, including NIG, London General, BNP Paribas & Bank of Wales. He has a vast experience in personnel & insurer relationship management and is focused on developing a strong culture within the business to promote further growth and wellbeing going forward.  His responsibilities are to develop sales, working closely with our Account Executives and to deliver a sustainable and compliant business which protects our customers and our colleagues.

Outside work, Andy is married to Laura and has two boys. Sport has been a theme running through Andy’s life, although today more time is spent supporting his children to enjoy their sport and education. When Andy does have time to himself he travels with Laura and enjoys socialising.

Peter Povall
Compliance Manager

Compliance Manager

Peter joined Caleb Roberts in 2022, following a 30-year career working across all areas of insurance, including underwriting, claims handling, accounts, and customer services. He originally joined the Dorrington office as the broking manager, later transitioning into his current role as compliance manager. In this role, he oversees the day-to-day regulatory activities of the business, ensuring compliance with industry standards and maintaining the high level of service and trust our clients expect.

Growing up on a dairy farm in the Corvedale, Peter has a strong appreciation for rural communities and the industries Caleb Roberts serves. Outside of work, he enjoys listening to audiobooks while gardening and walking his Border Collie with his wife. Peter has a keen interest in fireworks and has worked on professional displays across the UK and internationally.

Spencer Cleaves
Regional Director

Regional Director

Spencer has been at the company for nearly 25 years. Working from the Brecon office covering Wales and the Borders. He enjoys problem-solving people’s insurance needs and prides himself on being there in the event of a claim when it really matters. He specialises in farm and commercial insurance, whilst also mentoring the next generation of Account Executives. He works closely with insurers and recently completed the Aviva Future Leaders course in London, where his team won the prestigious “The Big Pitch”, Dragons Den theme accolade—an achievement he is especially proud of.

In his home life, Spencer is a devoted Manchester United supporter and a keen golfer. He also coaches the local Brecon Corries Under-9s and Under-6s football teams, in which his children Freddie and Ruby play.

Des Parry

Associate Director

Since studying at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester, Des has over 35 years in the insurance industry and joined Caleb Roberts in the 1980’s where he has gained the greatest respect from his existing clients and new prospects.

Des is keen on all sport, particularly rugby, where he played at a high level and is presently Director of Rugby with a local Mid Wales side. He is a strong supporter and volunteer of the ‘Royal Welsh Agricultural Society’ where he helps run the International Pavilion at their July Annual Show.

Des deals with all commercial insurance and is a specialist in the agricultural sector.

Jamie’s areas of expertise include farm, commercial, motor traders, contractors and fleet insurances and takes pride in understanding each client’s unique needs and delivering cover that is both practical and reliable.

 Outside of work, Jamie enjoys spending time with his family, Fitness hybrid training at the gym, and watching football—especially Swansea and the Wales National team. Steve Matthews

Steve joined Caleb Roberts in 2023. He brings hands-on insurance experience and a fresh perspective to the needs of rural and commercial businesses. His early experience in the industry came in 2007, working with marine craft insurers, before taking the time to earn a degree and gain experience in remote management roles across the country, something that taught him plenty about business operations. 

Since returning to insurance in 2017, he has worked for brokers across Shropshire and Herefordshire, getting to know the local challenges that farms, trades, and other businesses face. These days, he specialises in providing commercial insurance solutions, helping clients protect what matters most.

Based in the countryside himself, Steve understands rural life and makes it his job to find practical cover that actually works for people.

Originally from Presteigne, Andrew’s account base covers from Powys to Cheshire and everywhere in between!  Constantly looking for the next opportunity, Andrew welcomes any new insurance enquiries.

Whilst working with us, Andrew successfully achieved his CII Diploma in Insurance in 2022.

With over 21 years of experience in the insurance industry, I’m a Dip CII-qualified Account Executive with a broad and in-depth understanding of the full spectrum of general insurance. Over the course of my career, I’ve developed specialist knowledge in the agricultural, commercial, and marine sectors, working closely with clients to provide tailored insurance solutions that meet their unique needs and risks. My experience spans a wide range of insurance classes, giving me a well-rounded perspective and the ability to handle diverse and complex portfolios.

Outside of work, I’m passionate about community involvement. I manage the girls’ rugby section at COBRA RFC and serve on the club committee, helping to promote sport and teamwork among young players. When I’m not at the pitch or with clients, I enjoy spending quality time with my family.

Charlotte joined Caleb Roberts in 2024 with a decade of experience within the agricultural insurance industry within Wales and border counties.

Charlotte understands that no business is the same and enjoys taking the time to get to know her clients set up, to help them get the most value from their cover.

Although agriculture would be her main specialty; due to being immersed completely in farming life and considerate to the wants and needs of farmers, Charlotte also has a keen eye for managing other commercial businesses such as property owners, tradesman & hospitality sectors and commercial fleets.

Charlotte attended the Royal Agricultural College, where she met her now husband. They are now farming just outside of Newtown, with two small children and her husband also being a contract shepherd.
