Making an insurance claim can be daunting. That’s why our experienced advisers offer independent claims support to help guide you through what can otherwise be a difficult time. Their experience and support will help to ensure a swift and fair outcome.
Should you need to make a claim, please get in touch with your local office straight away. We’ll be on hand to offer advice and guidance to make the claims process as straightforward as we can.
We’ll help you to present your claim to your insurer and work closely with you to make sure you get the best possible settlement.
In the event of a claim, where urgent assistance is required, we ask you contact your local office for advice on how to proceed with the claim in accordance with your policy. However, we understand that claims will fall outside of our 9-5 office opening hours, and therefore offer the following advice:
Ensure everyone is away from danger, and reasonable precautions are taken to minimise the loss, including temporary repairs. If it’s safe to do so, take photos during and after the incident, including any damage. Contact your local office to notify them of the incident at the first available opportunity. Most policies will have a direct number for reporting claims to the insurer, so when any danger has passed, you can review your insurance documentation for this information.
First and foremost, check everyone involved is OK, and if there are any difficulties, or road safety concerns, call 999 to inform the appropriate emergency services. Presuming everyone is unharmed, take precautions to move to a safe place, and take all details down of any other party involved (contact, vehicle & insurance details), including witnesses to the accident.
The glove box accident report form through our legal provider (BDElite) will assist in asking the correct questions. If you have taken out legal cover with BDElite, then they provide a 24-hour, 7 day a week helpline on 01204 567517.
Do not admit any liability at the time of the incident.
Ensure everyone is away from danger and if anyone is harmed, notify the relevant emergency services. Take precautions to minimise any further losses. Contact your local office to notify them of the incident at the first available opportunity. Most policies will have a direct number for reporting claims to the insurer, so when any danger has passed, you can review your insurance documentation for this information.
In the event of a claim, contact one of our offices to support you through the claims process.
In the event of an emergency outside of office hours, please refer to your insurance documents and contact your insurance company directly if you need urgent assistance.
