February marked a new level of involvement for Caleb Roberts with local young farmer groups. We sponsored Shropshire YFC’s entertainments competition for the second year running, but added the Hereforshire YFC entertainments event the week before.
Both events were a great success, and the standard of theatre from the competitors was fantastic. We had the honour of presenting some awards on the final evening at both counties, with Wendy Powell representing the Company for Herefordshire, and Jo Hockenhull (pictured, left) at Shropshire.
Whilst we enjoy supporting the drama competitions, it’s important that more local firms get involved with sponsoring similar events, as the Federation of Young Farmers has taken a huge funding cut in recent years.
